-

KUWAIT CITY, July 17: According to reliable sources, the Ministry of Public Works is seeking to establish an integrated laboratory in the Government Center for Inspection, Quality Control and Research that will specialize in international calibration to detect the accuracy and sensitivity of devices that perform physical, mechanical and chemical tests on building materials, reports Al-Anba daily.

They explained that the government center has prepared an action plan in this regard and submitted it to the concerned authorities in the ministry. This laboratory will be ready to operate within less than a year.

The center is seeking the approval of a tender for the purchase of modern equipment that is compatible with modern technology for conducting tests in order to reduce human errors. This tender was put forward by the Central Tenders Committee for the purchase of new devices and equipment for this purpose.

The ministry has obtained approvals from several bodies, including the Ministry of Finance, and is currently completing the procedures required by CTC to obtain its approval.

The sources revealed that the advantages of this laboratory include that it will contribute to reducing human errors, increasing the accuracy of the tests and shortening the test time, and that the results will be more accurate.

They stated that this laboratory does not exist in this size and features anywhere in the Middle East, except for a laboratory affiliated with the National Institute of Measurement and Calibration in Egypt.
