‘Fear, anxiety returns to Kabul as US leaves, Taleban spread rule’

- — Compiled by Zaki Taleb

“THE manifestation of misery and depression pervade the Afghan cities, while the feelings of anxiety and panic, fill their souls with the imminent departure of the Americans and the return of Taleban,” columnist Dr. Abdulhameed AlAnsari wrote for Al-Jarida daily.

“The women feeling panicky more than anyone else in Afghanistan due to the enmity shown by the Taleban to female education, work and communal issue at large.

“This Taleban attitude towards women’s rights falls with the movement’s religious and ideological aspects and doesn’t require any evidence to prove this point. But the question is, why the Taleban rule is feared the most? This actually, can be attributed to horror, bitterness and the torment which the Taleban movement has unleashed in the past.

“In this connection, we elucidate that the Afghans have lived under Taleban rule about 25 years ago. It was an omnipresent and horrible rule where people were subjected to inhuman living in the name of the Sharia regulations.

“This happened, this has nothing to do with the Islamic Sharia but the Taleban rule still represents a suffocating nightmare for the Afghans because this rule has gagged the mouths of the community, paralyzed their movement and frozen their growth during the Taleban rule in Afghanistan making Kabul the worst place on earth to live on. This is because the Taleban has made life full of misery, poverty and depression.

“But, Almighty Allah protected this oppressed people by bestowing his mercy upon them and this was evident when the Al-Qaeda network of Osama Bin Laden waged a bloody attack on the American soil following the aggressive events which shocked the entire world in general and the Arabs and Muslims in particular.

“In other words, all the Americans rallied behind their president in a rare show of unity deemed as the first of its kind since the Pearl Harbor disaster in 1941 and authorized the president to chase the criminal and the US Army attacked and brought down the Taleban rule and liberated Afghanistan, before chasing the Al-Qaeda network by dispersing and scattering its members in addition to down tracking its leader everywhere until he was singled out and killed. Some of the Al-Qaeda members were dumped in the Guantanamo Bay prison. This is the punishment for wrong-doers.

“It is needless to say the Taleban members are religious fanatics harboring enmity against all aspects of life. Taleban adopts exclusive discriminatory policy against all religious and ethnic denominations. Not just that this movement, uses violence to impose its own concept of the Islamic Sharia.

“Anyway, these days after 20 years of American presence in Afghanistan during which Kabul basked in peace, stability, and safety once again fear for their life following the decision by the Americans to withdraw from Afghanistan. Many people have criticized the US decision to abandon the Afghans to their fate once again under the Taleban forces who are fast occupying the areas vacated by the Americans.

“There is a strong belief on the American side that if the Afghans were unable to pull together and form a strong force to deter the Taleban over the past 20 years, the US cannot remain in Kabul forever. The US is unable to help those who cannot help themselves.”

“Any work authority, sector or even section, need efficient, experienced and skilled person in terms of his/her qualification, experience and skill that must be related to the activities and the task of the relevant work center which falls under his/her supervision,” columnist Abdullah Al-Abduljader wrote for AlAnba

daily.

“However, we suggest that an efficient boss should work to provide opportunities for the employees to know each other outside working hours by inviting them for lunch or dinner, because this will help the employees to know each other better and this will boost their relations and help the work environment and their commitment towards each other and this will help improve their performance.

“On the other hand, we have observed that few bosses only take into consideration the family circumstances of their employees by talking to them and giving them advice and treat them as brothers or sisters and such behavior helps enhance their productivity and obligation towards the work.

“Consequently, I suggest the government and even the private sector must take into account all these qualities in supervisors when they are chosen for the sake of increasing productivity and this shall benefit the employees in their family and social life.”

“We have been and are still following the Palestinian cause generation after generation. Therefore, the issue is in our blood and our thoughts, regardless of the circumstances and contradictions that this issue has gone through,” columnist Dr Adel Fahad Al-Mishal wrote for daily.

“About half a million Palestinians lived among us in Kuwait for nearly half a century. They played a major role in education and other fields. They are our brothers. They provide the competencies that we lack at present. Some Palestinian brothers helped Kuwaitis during the occupation. Whoever was born in Kuwait remembers with love the monarchy and her family.

“Kuwait plays a prominent role in supporting the Palestinian cause, as the Palestine Liberation Organization was established in here. It has been receiving material and moral support for decades, which is the age of this cause. In the year 1990 AD, the Palestinian cause was considered a just issue that cannot be discussed in the depths of the Kuwaiti human being.

“The Palestinian citizen should not forget the Kuwaiti political and economic support - a constant among the rulers and people of Kuwait, the latest of which was the statement of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah - may God protect him - while receiving the Palestinian Prime Minister, stressing Kuwait’s firm position on the Palestinian cause.”

“The State budget bears exorbitant sums as compensation to employees for damages caused by decisions that are not in the interest of the public at all,” columnist Dr Hind Al-Choumar wrote for Al-Anba daily.

“There are many examples of cases won by employees in various ministries. They were treated fairly by the just judiciary after they were wronged because of flawed decisions taken by employers regarding them with ignorance and disregard for the law.

“Hence, the just judiciary rules for compensation, but the compensation is not paid by the one who made the wrong decision, but the State bears it in the form of public money. The official remains in his position and makes more mistakes with decisions, practicing functional and human injustice against his employees.

“The question is: How much does the State budget bear because of such wrong decisions? How does the State hold those responsible for such decisions? Do supervisory authorities, such as the State Audit Bureau, have the necessary tools to control this wastage of public money? Does the Civil Service Commission (CSC) have the necessary authority to stop such practices that perpetuate job injustice, affect productivity and develop the performance of the State apparatus?”
