Boost efforts to maintain Kuwait security: minister
KUWAIT CITY, Oct 17, (KUNA): Minister of Interior Sheikh Thamer Ali Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah stressed the need to continue making efforts and harnessing all possibilities to control any illegal acts, indicating that the public security sector is the front of the ministry and has a great responsibility for the security presence in the areas of Kuwait to maintain on homeland security.
This came in a press statement by the Ministry’s General Department of Relations and Security Media on the occasion of Minister Sheikh Thamer AlAli’s visit to the public security sector recently accompanied by a number of specialized assistant undersecretaries and general managers.
The statement said that this visit comes as a continuation of the minister’s tours of the sectors of the Ministry of Interior to determine the level of readiness and see the progress of work, noting that the Minister of Interior conveyed to the leaders, officers and members of the public security sector the greetings of the political leadership and its appreciation for their great efforts in maintaining the security of the country and the safety of its citizens.
He added that the minister met with the leaders of the public security sector and security directors in the six governorates and was briefed on the current and future plans, then listened to the suggestions and observations of the security directors and their future plans and programs in establishing security in the country.
He stated that the Minister of Interior directed to support the public security sector with the necessary military force, expand the establishment of police stations throughout the country to meet the needs of citizens, raise the ranks of the staff to accommodate the technical force, pay attention to the training system for the elements of the public security forces, and train them on all the work that the ministry needs in terms of security, technical, practical and work matters. A study to establish a specialized treatment center in the Ministry.
He pointed out that the minister mentioned that a first officer course, a sergeant’s course and a corporal’s deputy (craftsman) will be announced soon, in order to meet the needs of the stations with the necessary manpower.
He added that Sheikh Thamer Al-Ali directed to link the police stations electronically, replace the traditional status record in police stations with an electronic status record, prepare an electronic application on smart phones for minor traffic accidents (material damage), and include the loss report within the government (Sahel) application, and prepare a special program for public security that records the reports electronically.
According to the statement, the Minister of Interior continued his tour by inspecting the shooting ranges established by Kuwaiti hands in the Ahmadi Governorate Security Directorate and listened to an explanation about them by the Director of the Specialized Training Center in the Private Security Sector, Colonel Dakhil Al-Dakhil, and watched a shooting show with live ammunition.
The minister praised the cooperation between the public security and private security sectors and asked them to hold more joint courses and training, then inspected the operations room of the Ahmadi Security Directorate and listened to an explanation of its work mechanism.
He praised the employees of the public security sector and demanded more training to carry out the tasks entrusted to them to the fullest extent, stressing his confidence in the ability of the members of the security establishment to carry out the tasks entrusted to them efficiently and in all circumstances.
