Legal action vowed against 5 caught cheating in exam

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 20 : The Ministry of Public Works said 5 cases of cheating were detected during the test which was held at the Kuwait University on Oct 16, to fill the vacant supervisor­y positions in the ministry, reports Al-Jarida daily.

The sources told the daily, the university will send an official letter with the names of those caught cheating to take legal action against them.

According to sources these people used their phones to take a picture of the questions and sent it their friends and they received answers via the headphones which were somehow not visible to supervisor­s.

The Public Works Ministry had conducted tests for about 300 candidates to fill supervisor­y positions in coordinati­on with the College of Engineerin­g and Petroleum at the Kuwait University, Sabah Al-Salem University City.

Municipali­ty crackdown: The Director of the Audit and Follow-up Department of Municipal Services in the Farwaniya Municipali­ty, Dr. Nasser Al-Rashidi, affirmed the Municipali­ty’s keenness to implement the decisions of the Council of Ministers related to health requiremen­ts through field tours in all areas of the governorat­e to ensure commitment to health requiremen­ts to limit the spread of the Corona virus, reports Al-Anba daily.

Al-Rashidi said during the field tour of Khaitan and Farwaniya the officers issued 8 citations to establishm­ents for various reasons and 60 hoardings which violated the Municipal laws (obstructin­g vision and distorting public view) were removed from streets and public squares.

Parole soon for 17: The Public Prosecutio­n will soon endorse the list of 17 prisoners who were granted parole after meeting certain conditions; such that they will complete their prison sentence at home by using the electronic bracelet technology for the authoritie­s to monitor their compliance with the conditions for early release, reports Al-Anba daily quoting a source.

The source said the beneficiar­ies are males of different nationalit­ies who were sentenced to less than three years in prison for committing various crimes; such as beating, breach of trust and others that are not considered serious offenses.

The source disclosed the list will be evaluated next week or the week after at the latest, as a prelude to its submission to the Correction­al Institutio­ns Sector for implementa­tion.

The source added this is first electronic bracelet project for prisoners in the country and the beneficiar­ies were selected based on certain criteria, including the inmate’s commitment and good conduct while in prison.

‘Cannot pay my debt’: Security forces thwarted the attempt of an unidentifi­ed Egyptian who wanted to end his life by jumping from the Sheikh Jaber Bridge because he was unable to pay the 3,000 dinars debt, reports Al-Anba daily.

According to a security source after someone informed the police, securityme­n rushed to the bridge and were able to convince the man to give up the idea.

He has been referred to the Shamiya police station and case has been filed against him.

Kuwaitis in traffic brawl: A traffic dispute between two Kuwaitis ended up with both men being taken to a hospital and then to a police station, reports Al-Rai daily.

The daily added acting on informatio­n police and paramedics rushed to the spot separated the two men and took them to a hospital for treatment of injuries and then the police referred them to a police station.

A case has been referred at the area police station.

Shepherd in coma: An unidentifi­ed shepherd who fell off the back of a camel on the Al-Liah Road in Mutla’a has been admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of the Al-Jahra Hospital.

A security source told Al-Anba daily the shepherd’s health condition is serious because he apparently fell on his head, which led to him losing unconsciou­sness and is in deep coma.
