Criminal Court sentences three Iranians to capital punishment
Trio admits smuggling drugs for trafficking
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 2 : The Criminal Court, headed by Counselor Hamad AlMulla, sentenced to death three Iranians who confessed before the judiciary to smuggling 169 kilograms of psychotropic substances, 10 kilograms of hashish and heroin by sea near Bubiyan Island for trafficking in Kuwait, reports Al-Rai daily.
The Criminal Court had previously interrogated the defendants in a public session, and they confessed to bringing the contraband by sea from Iran, specifically from Abadan to Kuwait on board a cruiser. They were subsequently arrested and referred to the Prosecution.
Medical center shut: The Assistant Undersecretary for Private Medical Services Affairs at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Fatima Al-Najjar, announced the committee comprising members from the Health Licensing Department and the Medicines Inspection Department of the Ministry of Health and the Public Authority for Manpower has ‘sealed’ a private medical center in the Salmiya area for committing several violations, including a cleaning worker who was caught operating a laser device without a license, reports Al-Qabas daily.
Dr Al-Najjar said in a press statement that a doctor and some workers have also arrested, for working without a license, in addition to confiscating expired medicines.
Dr. Al-Najjar added all those arrested will be referred to the Public Prosecution and the Medical Responsibility Authority for legal action. She explained the raid was conducted after a report was received about the violations.
Forged visit visa: Personnel from General Department of Residency Affairs have arrested a Syrian and the search is on for another person who works as a representative for an unidentified very important person for forging the signature of a high-ranking official in the Ministry of Interior in an attempt to obtain an entry visa, reports Al-Anba daily.
The daily added, the suspects forged the signature to bring into the country an expatriate of a forbidden nationality. It is reported the application for visit visa needs the approval of the Minister Interior or the Undersecretary for people of countries whose entry is subject to approval.
According to what a security source told the daily, the Residency Affairs Investigations received information about an expatriate attempting to finalize the entry procedure for a Syrian, and that there were suspicions that the signature on the transaction was a forged.
The source added the Syrian who applied to complete the transaction, was arrested and admitted that he handed it over to another person who works as a representative for an “important person”, as he called him, and the other accused is being pursued in preparation for referring them to the Public Prosecution.
Expat arrested: The General Department of Emergency Police, represented by the Farwaniya Police Department, managed to arrest an expatriate who appeared in a video clip throwing rubble in a residential area, reports Al-Jarida daily.
A security source told the daily the video, which was published in the social media, documented an expatriate dumping rubble in an undesignated area in southwest of of Abdullah Al-Mubarak. The truck and its driver were seized from Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh.
The source added that the rescue police referred the truck driver to the Public Security Sector, the Environmental Police Department, and several violations were issued against him, and the necessary legal measures are being taken against him to deport him.
Ban on juveniles: The Public Authority for Manpower confirmed the ban stands on employing juveniles under the age of 18 in camel races or any other sports of the like, reports Al-Qabas daily.
PAM said in a statement on its social media account that the ban applies to competitions organized or supervised by the Public Authority for Youth or any other party.
