Al-Zour Refinery Exec VP’s contract extended

-

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 6: At a time when the oil sector is experiencing one of its biggest challenges with the delay in appointing its leaders and the presence of about 30 acting executive leaders in its companies and sectors, the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) has approved the extension of the service of the Executive Vice President of Al-Zour Refinery in the Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries Company (KIPIC) Khaled Al-Awadi for six months, reports Al-Rai daily quoting informed sources.

They attributed the decision to extend the contract of Al-Awadi for the suspension of appointments, promotions, transfers and delegations in the state, including the oil sector during the last stage.

They clarified that Al-Awadi is a leader who is responsible for the file of the multi-billion Zour refinery, which has entered its final stages pending its operation in the next few months.

Meanwhile, the sources indicated that KPC has prepared its final visions regarding the files of qualified oil leaders on whom the conditions apply to lead the oil companies and sectors as soon as the door is opened for promotions, transfers and rotations, especially since every delay causes the leaders to leave and others to enter the circle of conditions and merits.

They said, “The past period witnessed the processing of the files of qualified leaders and their experiences in preparation for submission to the Compensation Committee

and the corporation’s Board of Directors to take decisions in this regard. The future challenges are great”.

The sources affirmed that the lack of expertise and qualified leaders who meet the conditions is one of the great challenges, but there will be balance and major changes expected, dominated by a youthful nature, to prepare a new generation of leadership in more than one level and sector.

They explained that the CEO of KPC Sheikh Nawaf Saud Al-Sabah worked during the last stage to review the files of the leaders and follow up their performance in an accurate way to determine their capabilities and what they can offer during the next stage that will witness great challenges.
