KPC board okays renewal of health insurance contract for employees
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 7: The board of directors of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) approved the renewal of the health insurance contract for employees in the oil sector and their families at an amount less than KD 40 million, especially in light of their high numbers, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to informed sources, the extension of health insurance comes as a guarantee for the continued provision of health care to employees, especially since the clinical capacity of the Kuwait Oil Company’s Hospital has become less than required. There are diseases and cases that require treatment in other hospitals.
The KPC board of directors requested coordination with Kuwait Oil Company to study the hospital’s work management mechanism and its development mechanism after costs rose, and the number of clients exceeded the clinical capacity of the new KOC hospital with the increase in the number of employees.
The sources said, “With the renewal of the health insurance contract for workers, it will be an appropriate opportunity to restructure the work in the hospital and develop its management in line with the available capabilities”.
On the other hand, the sources affirmed that the KPC Council is seeking during the current period to reconsider many vital files, including technical files related to oil and files on administrative operations related to workers and their requirements.
They said this is aimed to provide the appropriate environment for work and ensure they receive the necessary services for them and their families, allowing them to achieve KPC’s strategic objectives. The sources highlighted that the CEO of KPC Sheikh Nawaf Saud Al-Sabah is seeking to create the appropriate work atmosphere for the workers in various sectors to implement the sector strategy 2040.
