Man arrested for inciting murder, strife
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 9: The Ministry of Interior said three Asians died in a tragic accident in the Kabd area on the Manaqeesh Road following a collision between two cars, reports Al-Rai daily.
A security source said that the accident occurred between a four-wheel drive driven by a citizen, and a minibus driven by an Indian, accompanied by a man of his family and a Pakistani.
The source said the remains of the victims have been referred to Forensics and the Kuwaiti was transferred to a hospital by air ambulance.
7 hurt in collision: The Public Relations and Media Department of the Public Fire Service stated that a collision occurred Monday evening, on Kabd Road, between two four-wheel drive vehicles and a van, reports Al-Rai daily.
As a result, the Central Operations Department directed a fire brigade from the Kabd Center, and upon its arrival to the site, it was found that a citizen and six Asians were injured.
The sources indicated the condition of some of the people were serious while others escaped with minor injuries. The seriously injured were rushed to a hospital by air ambulance.
Murder and strife: The Ministry of Interior has announced the arrest of a resident who incited murder and sectarian strife, reports Al-Rai daily.
In a statement regarding a video clip circulating in social media a resident who incited the killing through his personal account on a social networking site, the General Department of Relations and Security Media at the ministry clarified that the concerned security authorities, as soon as the video clip was monitored, arrested the suspect, and took necessary legal measures against him.
15 people rescued: Firefighting teams managed to rescue 15 people who were trapped in an Arab house used as a bachelor’s residence in Jahra on Monday evening, reports Al-Rai daily.
The Public Relations and Media Department of the General Fire Service stated that firefighting teams from two fire stations dealt with the accident without causing any injuries.
In another incident, the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and Ardiya firefighting teams dealt with a house fire in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area, 14 people were rescued and the fire was brought under control without causing any injuries.
Bribery in judiciary: A large-scale ‘purge’ targeting those suspected of involvement in anomalies in the judiciary has started in line with the bold and quick steps and decisions taken by the judicial authority in cooperation with newly appointed Public Prosecutor Saad Al-Safran, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting a reliable source.
The source disclosed that confidential procedures have started, indicating some new judges will stand trial for suspicion of receiving bribes. The source added this is the second of such steps; pointing out the first was the referral of 10 judges for trial when an Iranian identified only as Salehi, who is currently in prison, gave his testimony on the alleged bribery in the judiciary.
New appointment: Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and acting Minister of Interior Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled has appointed Lieutenant General Sheikh Salem Al-Nawaf as Assistant Undersecretary for the Criminal Security Sector effective Aug 7; in addition to his work as State Security Department Director, reports Al-Anba daily.

On his Twitter account, Minister of Finance Abdul Wahhab Al-Rasheed posted: “As per the directive of His Highness the Prime Minister Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and the desire of the Council of Ministers to activate channels of communication with citizens in an effective and direct manner; we are now receiving suggestions, requests and complaints related to the entities affiliated with the Finance Ministry through email and WhatsApp.”
