KUWAIT CITY, Aug 9: Director General of the Public Institution for Social Security (PIFSS) Mishaal Al-Othman remains in his post and the allegation that a directive has been issued to dismiss him is baseless, reports Al-Anba daily quoting a reliable source.
Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and acting Minister of Interior Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled has appointed Lieutenant General Sheikh Salem Al-Nawaf as Assistant Undersecretary for the Criminal Security Sector effective Aug 7; in addition to his work as State Security Department Director, reports Al-Anba daily.
Assigned
Also, Director General for Standardization and Industrial Services in the Public Authority for Industry (PAI) Engr Muhammad Eid Al-Adwani has been assigned to carry out the duties of former Director General Abdul Karim Taqi who was referred for retirement, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting sources.
Sources revealed Taqi had earlier received a notice on relieving him of his duties, but he refused to do so; hence, he was referred for retirement.
Sources said all five leadership positions in the authority are now vacant; including managers who handled the work of deputy directors for years and those whose leadership tenure has ended.
