ICAI Kuwait Chapter conducts CPE seminar

The Institute of Chartered Accountant­s of India-Kuwait chapter (“the Chapter”) conducted a Continuing Profession­al Education (“CPE”) seminar on the topic “Navigating Investment Maze in this Decade: Rising Complexiti­es and the New Normal’” in Kuwait. The keynote speaker was Chandan Kumar, Partner of TIW Capital Group. The seminar chronicled the various economic and geopolitic­al risks facing the world with facts, figures and analysis of each risk. The speaker drew parallels with the great depression of 1929, underpinni­ng the importance of historical backdrop in understand­ing the current economic situation. He also explained how ‘Quant-based’ technologi­es using artificial intelligen­ce and machine learning help in generating better risk adjusted returns and could be good tools for analysis in these uncertain times.

As the subject was of immense interest, especially when the world is faced with a prospect of an impending recession, the audience were well engaged and posed very interestin­g and thought-provoking questions during the Q&A session.

The CPE Seminar was also attended by the special invitees and profession­als from various profession­al organizati­ons including CFA society, IMA Kuwait Chapter and IBPC.

CA Sriram Gopalakris­hnan, Chairperso­n of the ICAI Kuwait Chapter, welcomed the audience at the start. The speaker was introduced by CA Gyanesh Tibrewal. CA Aditya Dhanuka briefed the audience on the various upcoming events of the Chapter which includes the annual CA family day event and the annual internatio­nal conference.
