Kamco Invest opens 2 student lounges at KU’s College of Business Administration
KUWAIT CITY, Oct 19: Kamco Invest, a regional non-banking financial powerhouse with one of the largest AUMs in the region, announced the opening of two new student lounges, the “DLC Lounge by Kamco Invest” and “Kamco Invest Lounge”, at the College of Business Administration – Kuwait University, Shadadiya Campus. The initiative, which was implemented as part of the Company’s corporate social responsibility program, included the complete renovation of the two lounges with appealing and modern designs, while including the requirements set by the students.
The opening ceremony for the lounges was held on Wednesday 19th of October 2022, and was attended byKamco Invest executives, officials from Kuwait University, and students from the College of Business Administration.Now open to students, the two lounges further build on the various programs launched by Kamco Invest to support the local education system, a key component under its social responsibility framework.
The “DLC Lounge by Kamco Invest” was especially designed for the
Dean’s List Council, a group of academically high performing students who assist and support other students within the College of Business Administration. The lounge was especially designed based on the requirements provided by the students to assist them in tutoring and supporting other students academically. The area will serve as a primary location for members of the Dean’s List Council to tutor and guide students as they achieve their academic goals.
Options
The “Kamco Invest Lounge” on the other hand, is open to all students at the College of Business Administration. The lounge is equipped with several entertainment options such as a billiards table, foosball table, several multi-purpose tables, and a tv area for students to relax and winddown in between or after classes.
Commenting on the opening, Nawal Mulla-Hussain, Managing Director of Support Operations, said, “Kamco Invest is committed to supporting the local education system and empower students to achieve their full potential. We at Kamco Invest are proud to have contributed by renovating these two lounges for the students at Kuwait University. Our support towards the university and the students has been an ongoing initiative and we aim to progressively build on that relationship through different activities. Our contribution to Kuwait University falls under the social pillar of our corporate sustainability strategy, which positively influences our operations while considering environmental, social, and governance aspects.”
Dr. Ebrahim Merza, Acting Dean of the College of Business Administration commented, “I would like to thank Kamco Invest for making this contribution to the College of Business Administration. We greatly value our longstanding relationship and were thrilled to witness the students’ excitement upon opening the two lounges. Each lounge will serve a different purpose, one being dedicated for the Dean’s List Council and the other for all students, but both will surely have a positive impact and add value to the students.”
Mulla-Hussain concluded, “We would like to thank Kuwait University and the College of Business Administration for their trust in providing companies from the private sector with an opportunity to organize initiatives that empower and add value to students. We also thank the Dean’s List Council, supervised by Ikhlas Sultan, as well as the students for their efforts and constructive cooperation in making this happen.”
