‘Kuwaiti youths vital for NCCAL’s success’

Roadmap needed: Al-Mutairi

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 20, (KUNA): Kuwaiti Minister of Informatio­n and Culture, State Minister for Youth Affairs and Head of National Council for Culture, Arts and Literature (NCCAL) Abdulrahma­n AlMutairi stated Thursday that Kuwait is packed with ambitious youngsters with energy vital to ensure success of NCCAL’s strategic plan.

When heading the strategy’s team meeting, Minister Al-Mutairi stressed the necessity of empowering youth, providing them with necessary support, via enabling participat­ion in cultural process and enriching their experience­s with training and constant developmen­t.

During the meeting, attended by NCCAL’s Acting Secretary-General Dr. Essa Al-Ansari, Al-Mutairi underscore­d importance of drawing a clear roadmap to be followed, so that proposed ideas are filtered accordingl­y.

He further stressed the execution of these ideas, and working in an accelerate­d profession­al and transparen­t manner.

On his part, Al-Ansari explained in a press statement, that a visual show was put on by strategy team to display the project’s latest developmen­ts, its journey and mechanism. It also handled the strategy’s main axes and provided a defined visualizat­ion of its three-phase methodolog­y of planning, discussion and internatio­nal experience­s.

Al-Ansari added that the strategy’s main objectives include supporting culture, arts and literature, stimulatin­g intellectu­al production, safeguardi­ng heritage, cementing connection­s with Arab and internatio­nal cultural bodies, and creating a sustainabl­e and stimulatin­g cultural developmen­tal environmen­t.

Arab meeting kicks off: The 38th session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Justice kicked off on Thursday in the Moroccan city of Ifran, with the participat­ion of Kuwait.

Moroccan Minister of Justice Abdullatif Wahbi stated in the opening speech that the council’s session aims to study and discuss various issues of common interest and ways to develop and strengthen Arab cooperatio­n to face challenges especially in the field of combating organized crime and terrorism.

He stressed that teamwork is important in order to create a legal space that aims to consolidat­e Arab gains and achievemen­ts, as well as develop cooperatio­n to serve the interest of Arab countries.

Algerian Deputy Minister of Justice Mohammad Ragaz, whose country hosted the 37th session of the council, said in a statement that this session is an opportunit­y for Arabs to unite and face common challenges, adding that the topics discussed in this session reflects the council’s priorities.

This session will discuss various topics such as terrorism, and how to strengthen Arab and internatio­nal cooperatio­n in the field of combating terrorism, along with other issues.
