Exports hit 312m in seven months

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 22: The total value of Kuwaiti exports in first seven months pf 2022 was 312.1 million dinars, reports AlAnba daily.

The sources added that the Arab Gulf states accounted for the highest percentage of Kuwaiti exports at KD 183.7 million, followed by the group of Arab countries with KD 95.9 million, and then the European continent with KD 10.9 million.

The rest of the exports were distribute­d in varying proportion­s to African countries with an amount exceeding half a million dinars a little to 543,000 dinars, Asian and Australian countries by 3.1 million dinars, and the countries of the Americas by 18 million dinars.

Kuwaiti-origin exports to the world reached their peak last July, with total exports of 76.8 million dinars, followed by February with total exports of 72.8 million dinars, and May with total exports of 39.4 million dinars, while April recorded the lowest value of exports with 24.8 million dinars. And in June, exports amounted to 26.8 million dinars.

Kuwait Petroleum Corporatio­n (KPC) intends to sign a consultanc­y contract to support its human resources sector at a cost of more than KD1.5 million, reports AlAnba daily quoting sources.

Meanwhile, sources revealed that KPC has requested approval from the regulatory authoritie­s, indicating the Higher Procuremen­t Committee for KPC tenders and its subsidiari­es requested for ‘call-off contract’. According to experts, “this is a contract between a supplier and buyer for the provision of services, goods or works. It is a form of framework agreement that is often used in constructi­on where projects can last for months or even years.”

In January 2022, KPC invited nine internatio­nal companies to participat­e in the bidding -- The Boston Group, Strategy &, Accenture Middle East, McKinsey, Oliver Wyman, Deloitte, Ernst & Young, AT Kearney and Bain & Company.

Sources also stated that the winning technical advisor must develop a human resources strategy for the year 2040 in line with the needs and directions of current and future human resources in the oil sector.
