1.5m old vehicles tires exported
KUWAIT CITY, Oct 30: A year after the transfer of millions of used tires from the South Saad Al-Abdullah area to the recycling factories in Al-Salmi, companies working in the field of tire recycling and transporting under the supervision of the Environment Public Authority were able to cut them and export them, in a way that enabled them to benefit from them and reduce the damage caused to the environment, reports Al-Qabas daily.
The EPA transferred, until August 2021, about 42 million tires that had accumulated over 17 years in a rural area.
The factory’s production capacity per year is estimated at one and a half million tires, and it can be raised to 4.5 million tires per year soon, in the event of continuous operation and the introduction of auxiliary equipment, say sources.
Regarding participation in the celebration held by the United Nations recently at Kuwait University under the slogan “Youth Leading Ambition for Climate Action,” an unidentified EPA official said Kuwait is in the process of establishing a factory to produce organic and environmentally friendly ethanol, in addition to the desired economic benefit to the country, due to the characterization of this industry from the ability to put Kuwait in an advanced rank among the regional countries exporting the substance.
The sources said such projects are “economically feasible, based on sustainable development and reliance on renewable energy. The organic ethanol plant is an economic project and a Kuwaiti edifice that contributes to raising the country’s national income, revive its environmentally friendly exports, and supports and provides jobs for national cadres.”
EPA opts out: The Environment Public Authority has canceled the special bid for the management and operation of “the authority” at the technical inspection centers of the Ministry of Interior to measure the percentage of emissions from cars before renewing the vehicle book.
In a related context, the authority announced the cancellation of the bid for management, operation, examination, auditing and matching of shipments and imported and exported chemicals at the ports of Kuwait, as well as the cancellation of the bid for management, exploitation and operation of operating rooms and tracking centers for waste transport mechanisms.
Investors invited: The Kuwait Municipality invites all investors who wish to submit their bids for the design, operation, management and maintenance of the Jahra waterfront development project, reports Al-Jarida daily.
The municipality said in the Official Gazette Kuwait Alyawm that it will start receiving applications from October 30, 2022 until March 2, 2023.
Man falls to death: A Pakistani fell to his death from the roof of a building under construction in Al Mutla’a residential area, reports Al-Rai daily.
One of the co-workers called the ambulance and informed the securitymen, but by the time help arrived the man had succumbed to his injuries.
The corpse of the man has been referred to Forensics. A case of accidental death has been recorded at the area police station.
Dairy product check: In response to a video clips posted in the social media about manipulation in weights of a dairy product because it does not match the weight displayed on the package, the commercial control emergency teams were deployed in cooperative societies and supermarkets in all governorates to check random samples of several types of different dairy products and found that all samples matched for weights mentioned on packages, reports Al-Jarida daily.
The Ministry of Commerce called on valued consumers not to hesitate to inform the Ministry of Commerce as soon as they discover any tampering with any product by submitting a report through the government’s ‘Sahel’ application or through the ministry’s accounts on social media.
