17 arrested: The Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of 17 people on charges of engaging in acts contrary to what it called public morals, reports Al-Rai daily.

4 under probe: The Kuwait University said four female students have been referred for investigation for posting tweets about their refusal on the issue of closure of the College of Public Health, reports Al-Jarida daily.

The sources stated that “the procedures for investigation until now are not explained, but the referral for investigation looks suspicious. They said they have not sign the complaint paper and wondered ‘How and who filed the complaint against them’.

The sources indicated that the administration of the College of Public Health forced the students to sign, and then they were transferred to the investigations at the Deanship of Student Affairs in the Student Cases and Complaints Department.

The sources added, the deanship of the college threatened the students with dismissal and expulsion, because they were active on Twitter demanding not to turn the college into one of the scientific departments.
