Kuwaiti charity conducts 55 eye ops in Yemen Taiz area

ADEN, Oct 30, (KUNA): The Kuwaiti Internatio­nal Charitable Society for Developmen­t concluded on Thursday, the implementa­tion of the Eye Operations project for 55 Yemeni beneficiar­ies in Taiz Governorat­e, as part of the ‘Kuwait by your side’ campaign that has been going on for eight years.

In a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), the Director of the Office of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor in Taiz Abdo Al-Silwi expressed his thanks, appreciati­on and gratitude on behalf of the local authority of the State of Kuwait, HH the Amir, the government and the people, and the Kuwaiti Tanmia Charity Associatio­n for the great support provided to the people of Taiz Governorat­e, including funding this important humanitari­an project.

He explained that the vital Kuwaiti humanitari­an projects implemente­d in the governorat­e contribute to alleviatin­g the suffering of thousands of families in various fields.

For his part, Director of Basmat Foundation for Developmen­t, executing the project, Ahmad Al Zumar, said in a similar statement to (KUNA) that this project comes among dozens of vital projects funded by the Kuwaiti Tanmia Charity in Taiz and all Yemeni governorat­es in various fields.

He pointed out that the project aims to combat blindness and alleviate the suffering of citizens by providing completely free services and helping them to overcome this damage and burdens that they are unable to bear and restore their sight so that they can interact with the details of their lives and livelihood normally.

He valued the influentia­l humanitari­an contributi­ons of the State of Kuwait and the Tanmia Charity Associatio­n in the sectors of water, health, education, relief and economic empowermen­t, which benefit tens of thousands of citizens in various Yemeni regions.
