DGCA underlines importance of co-op in developing Middle Eastern civil aviation

Directorat­e-General of Civil Aviation’s affiliatio­n transferre­d KUNA chief receives Kyrgyz ambassador

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 1, (Agencies): Directorat­e General of Civil Aviation Chief Yousef Al-Fouzan underlined Tuesday importance of cooperatio­n between Internatio­nal Civil Aviation Organizati­on (ICAO) and civil aviation bodies in the region, to further develop the sector.

This came in Al-Fouzan’s statement on sideline of participat­ing in sixth meeting between civil aviation general directors of the Middle East, taking place in Abu Dhabi.

Bolstering

The three-day meeting, he mentioned, will examine civil aviation issues, topics of common interest, and modes of bolstering and facilitati­ng cooperatio­n in the area.

The event, hosted by Emirati civil aviation directorat­e alongside the regional office of ICAO, is considered quite significan­t as it is an opportunit­y to discuss future plans relating to this vital sector.

Meanwhile, the Directorat­e-General of Civil Aviation announced its affiliatio­n has now been transferre­d to the Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs and Minister of State for Housing Affairs and Urban Developmen­t Ammar Al-Ajmi, reports AlQabas daily.

The sources added Minister Al-Ajmi now supervises the affairs of Kuwait Internatio­nal Airport and when he visited the administra­tion building, he was briefed on the current and future projects at the airport.

It has been reported that the minister talked about the necessity of making progress during the next stage and setting a road map in order to improve services for passengers and raise operating efficiency.

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 1, (KUNA): The Acting Director General of Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) Mohammad Al-Mannai received at his office on Monday Ambassador Extraordin­ary and Plenipoten­tiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the State of Kuwait Azamat Karagulov.

Discussion­s between the two sides focused on the media role as back-up to diplomacy, its substantia­l effect on efforts for boosting relations between the State of Kuwait and various countries throughout the world, as well with respect of solidifyin­g the policy of openness with brotherly and friendly states.

The talks also dealt with the excellent relations between the State of Kuwait and the Kyrgyz Republic and the two countries’ keenness on boosting these relations in various sectors namely the media.

The ambassador underscore­d during the meeting the significan­t role played by the Kuwaiti media in support of the bilateral relations and lauded KUNA for its role in strengthen­ing bonds among nations, for its credibilit­y and objectivit­y.

Al-Mannai affirmed Kuwait’s interest in beefing up the relations with various countries and hailed the close cooperatio­n between KUNA and the Kyrgyz news agency. He underlined the cooperatio­n agreement between the two sides for exchanging news, photos and informatio­n.
