Indian Embassy celebrates National Unity Day
KUWAIT CITY, Nov 1: The Embassy of India, Kuwait, organized the National Unity Day on Oct 31, 2022 at the Embassy’s premises.
In his inaugural remarks Dr. Vinod Gaikwad, First Secretary (Press, Information, Culture, Consular, Education) & Head of Chancery extended warm greetings to all Indians in Kuwait and friends of India in Kuwait on the occasion of India’s National Unity Day which is celebrated every year on Oct 31 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel, first Home Minister of India.
The Rashtriya Ekta Divas pledge was administered by Mrs Smita Patil, First Secretary, Political and Commerce.
India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi on this occasion reiterated the central virtue of unity as one of the Panch Praans – five principles as a guideline for the next 25 years of Amrit Kaal, ahead of the centennial celebration of Indian Independence in 2047.
The embassy also organized a cultural program with patriotic dance and songs and an exhibition of depicting works of Sardar Vallabhai Patel.
In the run up to National Unity Day, the Embassy in association with Indian schools in Kuwait organized several events including special Unity Human Chains and Unity Runs in which hundreds of Indian students participated. A digital exhibition was held across the Embassy’s social media platforms along with a special session dedicated on the Life of Sardar Vallabhai Patel. Special Uni-TEA stalls were put up in Embassy, to celebrate the unique connection of unity and tea in India.
