KUWAIT CITY, Nov 2: Ambassador of Cyprus to Kuwait Michael Mavros called on Kuwaiti businesspersons and investors to invest in his country; affirming that the investment opportunities in Cyprus are promising, reports Al-Qabas daily.

Speaking in an event held recently at the Embassy of Cyprus with the slogan, ‘Cyprus ...Your Gateway to Europe’, Mavros stated “this event is the first of its kind. It aims to present the available investment opportunities in Cyprus to Kuwaiti businesspersons. The presence of a large number of Kuwaiti businesspersons in this event, which is aimed at promoting investment opportunities in our country, is worthy of praise.”

He confirmed the embassy is fully prepared to provide all the necessary information and respond to queries about investments and laws in Cyprus. “Our country is a member of the European Union. All the financial and legal guarantees for investors are available and secured. All investments in Cyprus are protected. We have not heard about any problem that any investor encountered in the past, given our good investment environment and our people’s willingness to cooperate with our guests.”

On the Kuwaiti government’s investments in his country, he explained: “There are no direct Kuwaiti government investments, so we are keen on attracting them. Some investments in the real estate field are from the private sector. A good number of Kuwaitis own real estate properties in Cyprus. Apparently, many Kuwaitis are interested in acquiring real estate properties in our country and I encourage them to do so.”
