KUWAIT CITY, Nov 3: Cancer Aware Nation (CAN) has concluded its cancer awareness campaign in cooperation with Al-Ahli Bank of Kuwait with the theme ‘Your Health is a Crown’, reports AlQabas daily.

The campaign included two awareness exhibitions at The Gate Mall and Hamad Al-Saqer Specialized Health Center in Adailiya. “Cooperating with the bank was part of our strategy to support health programs aimed at raising public awareness about breast cancer and early signs of tumors,” CAN Board Member Dr Hussa Majid Al-Shaheen revealed.

She lauded the campaign’s outstanding approach this year due to the diversity of events, starting with a press conference at Kuwait Towers and other activities in malls all over Kuwait.

CAN participated in various events in coordination with the Health Ministry, focusing on how to carry out examinations for early detection of tumors in cooperation with government and private universities.

Shaheen, who is responsible for the ‘Your Health is a Crown’ campaign, disclosed that “exhibitions allow us to contact society members with various backgrounds and answer their questions about diseases. We advise them on how to have a healthy lifestyle”.

She said programs were held in schools

for girls like Ain Jalout School, Girl Scouts Society and Kids Land Nursery to educate mothers and teachers about the disease.

CAN also participated in a health seminar organized by Sabah Al-Salem Cooperative Society for two days, distributed cards to remind women about their monthly tests, and stressed the need for mammogram for women above 40 years old.
