KOC to float a combined tender for three contracts worth $450 million
Company preparing another new agreement Kuwaiti charity launches relief projects in Yemen
ADEN, Nov 5, (KUNA): A delegation from the Kuwaiti charity Namaa Foundation, visiting Yemen, has launched relief projects in the field of water, food and shelter for the displaced and vulnerable and affected groups in Aden and other governorates in southern Yemen as part of the ongoing ‘Kuwait by your side’ campaign for the eighth year in a row.
For his part, Director of the Relief Department of Namaa Foundation Khaled Al-Shamri said in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Thursday, that the Foundation distributed 150 shelter bags to the displaced in the village of Kawban in the Lahij Governorate, and 1,500 food baskets to the displaced, people with special needs and chronic diseases.
In the governorates of Aden, Lahj and Abyan Al-Shamri indicated that the Foundation also launched the distribution of 120,000 liters of drinking water daily for a period of four months to the camps for the displaced to ensure the provision of clean drinking water to these groups who are already facing deadly diseases and epidemics such as cholera and acute diarrhea as a result of
contaminated water.
He pointed out that the current events in Yemen have caused the displacement of large numbers of citizens from their homes towards safe areas, which made them lack the necessities of life, stability and basic services such as housing, food, water and shelter supplies, as is the case of Ammar bin Yasir camp in the Kawban area.
For his part, Advisor to the Governor of Lahj, Omar Al-Somati, expressed in a similar statement to KUNA his thanks and appreciation to the State of Kuwait for its development and humanitarian support to the Yemeni people, to confirm the strength of the two countries’ relations that extend for decades.
He pointed out that the distribution of this emergency humanitarian aid contributes to alleviating the harsh suffering experienced by the displaced in the camps and helps them in their livelihood.
In turn, the Marketing Director of Namaa Foundation, Abdulaziz Al-Ibrahim, in a statement to KUNA, praised the effective and effective support of Kuwaiti donors to their brothers in Yemen through Namaa, indicating that these relief projects are part of the support provided by the State of Kuwait, government and people, to the Yemeni people in various fields to alleviate their suffering in the harsh conditions they are going through.
KUWAIT CITY, Nov 5: The Kuwait Oil Company will recommend to the Central Agency for Public Tenders soon to float a tender for 3 contracts for soil cleaning, worth 450 million dollars, in coordination with the Kuwaiti National Liaison Point for Environmental Projects and the United Nations Development Program, reports Al-Rai daily.
The sources revealed the three contracts will be offered in one tender, pointing out that the winner of any one contract has no right to win another contract.
Lowest bid
The sources said that the lowest bid prices in the three contracts were as follows -- the lowest prices in the first contract were quoted by The Contractor Company, 148 million dollars, and the second by Al-Sayer Construction Company, at 155 million dollars; the lowest prices in the second contract were submitted by the Al-Ghanim International with $153 million, and the second by Hesco, with $176 million and the lowest prices in the third contract were submitted by The Contractor Company, at $152 million, and the second by Al-Sayer Construction Company, at $165 million.
The sources revealed that “Kuwait Oil” is preparing another new contract that will be offered after the completion of the current tender, which will include quantities of soil cleaning equivalent to one of the current contracts, and yet another contract for afforestation.
