TEF conducts 13th Technological Innovations Conference and Expo
Participants exhibit their products and services Australian University excels at TICE & EEA ceremony
KUWAIT CITY, Nov 5: The College of Engineering at the Australian University (AU) has received 5 Gold awards while participating in the 13th Technological Innovations Conference and Exhibition (TICE), and 6th Engineering Excellence Awards (EEA).
Over the years, TICE has become an internationally renowned event and a place of confluence for emerging &innovative technologies that can helpfind solutions for the multiple challenges faced by the industries in Kuwait including Oil & Gas and Energy sector. The event is attended by distinguished guests from Ministries, Oil sector, Research Institutes, Industry leaders and Scholars.
The College of Engineering at AU has participated in this reputable event by presenting tworesearch projects for the Engineering Excellence Award, two presentations, and nominated two alumni for the Emerging Engineer of the Year in addition to showcasing a graduation project by a group of students along with representative from the Admission Office in the AU booth.
Worth
What’s worth mentioning is that AU faculty member Dr. Suad Al Radwan participation as a chairperson within the organizing committee of the conference.
AU succeeded in securing the Gold Award under the Research Category submitted by faculty members Dr. Rida Elgaddafi and Dr. Mortadha Alsaba in additionto the Gold Award under the Energy Conservation Category submitted by Dr. Jean El Achkar.
Two alumni from the Petroleum Engineering Department; Eng. Abrar Ben Hussain and Eng. Taibah Alamgirwon the Emerging Engineer of the Year. At last,both Dr. Rana Malhas and Dr. Adel Younis presented two technical papers during the conference.
Commenting on this success, Dr. Mortadha Al Saba – Associate professor and Head of Petroleum Engineering Said: “This achievement clearly shows the caliber of our students and their dedication as well as the continuous efforts and commitments made by our faculty. We are feeling so proud and looking forward for similar accomplishments.”
KUWAIT CITY, Nov 5: Tamilnadu Engineers Forum (TEF) Kuwait, the ISO 9001:2015 certified non-profitable, Engineers Forum registered with Embassy of India to Kuwait, conducted the “13th Technological Innovations Conference and Exposition (TICE)” at Al-Hashmi Hall, Hotel Radisson Blu on Oct 27, 2022. TEF has an active membership of around 500 engineers, from various disciplines and industries spread over Kuwait.
The conference is the flagship event of TEF where participants from various countries presented technical papers and participated as exhibitors. The event was graced by high level delegates Mansour Al Saad - CEO KPTC as Guest of Honour, Eng. Humoud Al Roudhan - Asst Undersecretary MEW as keynote speaker, Eng. Abdulla Al Ajmi -Manager Tech. Services (MAA-KNPC) as the special guest and Ms. Anchita Kethwas, Second Secretary Embassy of India- Kuwait, as special invitee. The event started with the ribbon and cake cutting by the Chief Guests and the TEF executive team took the delegates for the walk around to the exhibition booths where 30 stalls were present exhibiting their products and services.
Program
The inaugural program started with National anthem of Kuwait followed by National anthem of India. Subramanian, Jt. Sec shared the safety moment of the day followed by Muthu Chidambaram, Jt Sec-IT sharing the Kural for the day from the sacred book of Tamilians “Thirukkural”. Gem Prasanna, General Secry. TEF, gave the welcome address and Krishna Jegan, President TEF gave the Presidential address.
The chief guests delivered their speech and were honoured by the TEF executive committee with shawl and memento.
Later, the Plenary session started and presentations were conducted in-parallel at both halls and there were a huge turnout of delegates from the K-Companies and other private companies and students from Australian college of Kuwait and Kuwait University. The whole event was anchored by Kasi Vishwanathan, Samuel, Saravanan and Raja K Velu.
The hall management was handled by Anantharaj, Manikandan, Raja Velu, Kasi Vishwanathan and Saravanan and the Overall IT support handled by Vadivelan and Ramanan. The whole conference was planned and coordinated by the Technical Head Ashok Kumar supported by the technical team comprising Arumugam, Muthu Chidambaram, Justine Anto, Murali Krishnan, Balan, Arun Golden, Mohandas, Ramasubramanian and Megaraj.
The presentations at both the halls completed by 2.30 pm and meanwhile the participants were visiting the exhibitor booths and enquiring on the products and services.
TEF executive team thanked the Platinum Sponsors M/s. KMMC, M/s. Trans W, M/s. Golden Palm and the Gold Sponsors M/s.Al-Mulla Exchange and the Silver Sponsor M/s. Hawk Energy for their continued support and honoured their representatives with memento.
At the end of the sessions, there was a raffle draw and prizes were distributed to the lucky winners.
The program came to an end with networking and buffet lunch.
