KPC workers included: The Cabinet has approved inclusion of the employees of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) and its subsidiaries to the beneficiaries of the cash reward for workers on the frontline of the fight against Corona under the third category, reports Al-Rai daily quoting sources.
Sources told the daily that the Secretariat General of the Council of Ministers informed KPC about the approval. Sources explained this is in appreciation of the role played by oil sector workers in ensuring the continuation of production, operations and projects in this vital sector during the pandemic. Sources said these workers also supported efforts of the Health Ministry in equipping quarantine centers, field hospitals and shelters at the height of the crisis, especially in terms of logistics.
Exports in mid-Nov: Kuwait intends to export the first shipment of oil products from the newly operated Al-Zour refinery – the largest refinery in the country – by mid-November, reports Al-Rai daily quoting Reuters.
Reuters cited two sources, one of whom revealed that the 40,000-tonne naphtha will be for Asia.
According to the report, Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries Company (KIPIC), which operates the refinery that has a production capacity of 615,000 barrels per day, confirmed that the first phase of the Al-Zour refinery project started its commercial operations after a long delay.
