ICESCO chief urges promoting values of civilization alliance
Kuwait keen on cooperating with UNICEF: Minister
FES, Morocco, Nov 23, (KUNA): Director-General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) Salem Al-Maled called for bringing up children to respect the values of civilization alliance and coexistence.
The educational curriculums need to highlight the values of civilizational communication, humanitarian fraternity, he said in his inaugural speech to the ninth international forum of civilization alliance on Tuesday in Fes city, northern Morocco.
The forum is themed “toward alliance for peace to coexist as one humanity.”
Values enshrined
“ICESCO is proud to have these values enshrined in its vision and strategy. This is why it launched the center of civilizational dialogue and the center for strategic foresighting as well as incubator centers for motivating the creative youth,” Al-Maled pointed out.
He noted that the organizations faces the challenge of developing a community open for the trio of justice, fraternity and equality, which is also a historical challenge for humanity.
“This trio is the way for ending the evils of ignorance, hunger and disease,” he added.

Minister of Social Affairs and Community Development and State Minister for Women and Childhood Affairs Mai Al-Baghli stressed, on Tuesday, Kuwait’s keenness on strengthening cooperation with UN’s International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF).
In a press release after meeting with UNICEF Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa
Adele Khodr, Al-Baghli said that the goal of this cooperation is to benefit the children in Kuwait in various educational, social and cultural fields.
From her side, Khodr affirmed the importance of Kuwait’s role to the UN, based on its active participation and support in various events.

Secretary General of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) Jaqan Chapagain has lauded Kuwait’s support for various aid
projects throughout the world.
The official expressed gratitude for the assistance during a meeting with the State of Kuwait Permanent Delegate at the UN and International Organizations in Geneva Ambassador Nasser Al-Hain at the federation headquarters in Geneva.
The ambassador told KUNA that the international relief official expressed aspiration to increase cooperation with Kuwait particularly amid the mounting strifes and catastrophes worldwide, noting that there has been shortage of financial allocations for relief work.
