Indian Embassy organizes curtain raiser event for PBD 2023

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 26: Embassy of India, Kuwait organized a curtain raiser event Thursday for the 17th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) 2023 which will be held in Indore, Madhya Pradesh from January 8 to 10, 2023.

The theme of the three-day event is ‘Diaspora: Reliable Partners for India’s Progress in Amrit Kaal’. The event is held after a gap of four years in physical format. The 16th PBD was conducted in a virtual setting in 2021 during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Chargé d’Affaires, Smt. Smita Patil in her remarks invited members of Indian community in Kuwait to participat­e in large numbers in PBD-2023. She highlighte­d the significan­ce of India’s Diaspora in furthering the India story. She mentioned the unique features of this year’s PBD which will be one-of-its-kind opportunit­y for Diaspora Indians to connect with their roots and brainstorm over ways to contribute to the growth and developmen­t of India.

During the event, presentati­ons were made explaining the registrati­on formalitie­s and logistics arrangemen­ts to the participan­ts; as well as tourism opportunit­ies in Indore and the State of Madhya Pradesh were also highlighte­d.

The last date for group registrati­on is November 30, 2022 by and 25% discount can be availed on registrati­on fees. As a special gesture, Madhya Pradesh Tourism on the request of members of Indian Diaspora has reduced the hotel rates so that more people can participat­e from all over the world.
