Police arrests 45 residence law violators; beggars held

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 28: The General Department of Relations and Security Media at the Ministry of Interior stated “the continuous security efforts of the General Department of Residence Affairs Investigat­ion, in cooperatio­n with the concerned authoritie­s, resulted in the arrest of 45 violators of the residence laws, reports Al-Rai daily.

The department personnel also issued three citations for practicing profession without a license by the Ministry of Health; seven people were arrested for begging for alms and referred to the competent authoritie­s, to take the necessary legal measures against them and their sponsors.

Kuwaiti dies in mishap: A Kuwaiti died after he was run over by a vehicle driven by a Syrian in the suburb of Doha, reports Al-Rai daily. The daily added, the victim was crossing the road when the accident happened.

The source stated the driver of the vehicle helped to take the citizen to the hospital, but he was declared dead upon arrival following which the driver surrendere­d himself to the security men.

Motorist nabbed: The General Traffic Department personnel have arrested a reckless motorist after a video clip was posted in the social media, reports Al-Rai daily.

The General Traffic Department has also impounded the vehicle and referred the man to the concerned authority. The car has been towed to the ministry detention garage.

Local booze seized: The Public Security Sector, represente­d by the Ahmadi Security Directorat­e, managed to seize an Asian in possession of 154 bottles of locally manufactur­ed booze ready for sale, reports Al-Rai daily.

The Security Media Department stated that the man and the booze bottles have been referred to the concerned authority to initiate legal action against him.
