KUWAIT CITY, Nov 28: The state authorities are close to solving the issue of senior vacant positions, and this will be done in the coming weeks according to an urgent and well-defined government plan with the aim of accelerating the wheel of achievement in the ministries and working to achieve the requirements of the stage that requires achieving the aspirations of citizens and eliminating routines that impede vital work, reports Al-Qabas daily.

Diwaniyas, malls and cafes in Kuwait have been drawing large numbers of sports fans to watch World Cup games since the 2022 Qatar championship kicked off on November 20, amid even higher attraction in the final rounds of the event.

In light of the increase in vacant positions in most state agencies and the increase in the number of leaders who have resigned or been retired, a government source revealed that the train of decisions to resign and refer to retirement will complete its journey before the end of the current year, and leadership vacancies will be filled in most ministries and government departments, and the authorities will witness stability within weeks.

The source told Al-Qabas next December will be the month of decisiveness by filling positions according to a mechanism that guarantees the selection of competencies, accelerating development, implementing faltering projects and achieving the requirements of the stage.

The source revealed that the government will adopt more than 30 leaders in the coming weeks, and they will be placed in their positions to push the wheel of development and decide on outstanding issues and urgent issues. He stated that His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah stressed to all ministers the need to nominate qualified names to fill vacancies and to give national cadres the opportunity away from any favoritism, conflict of interests or parliamentary recommendations, and also directed to avoid delays in filling leadership vacancies.

While the source justified the delay in filling the vacancies for a number of reasons, he considered that the “conflict of interests” was the most prominent reason that caused the delay in appointing the leaders by assignment, in addition to the failure of some of the selected personalities to pass the promotion tests in the state’s agencies, but many obstacles have now been passed, and the identification of highly qualified leaders who are known for their integrity and skill in field work, in addition to their extensive experience in their respective fields.

The source indicated that the government seeks to change the approach of the leadership position in the state by applying the principle of “whoever works and achieves, he will continue, and whoever does not achieve will be exempted from his position and replaced,” with strict recommendations from the political leadership. The focus will also be on projects aimed at revitalizing domestic tourism and recreational projects.

The source touched on the elements for assessing leaders, including: the speed of achieving achievements, the ability to rationalize and prevent waste, and not harm public money, as well as fighting corruption and preventing favoritism, stressing that these foundations will not be tolerated, and the old or newly appointed leaders will be warned of the need to put specific plans for achievement and acceleration of development away from routine and obstacles.
