Youth, source of talent, needed for developmen­t of Kuwait: Gulf Bank

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 28: Under the patronage of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Sabah, and in the presence of the Kuwaiti Ambassador to Washington, Jassem Al-Budaiwi, and a wide group of students, Gulf Bank has concluded its participat­ion at the thirty-eighth annual conference of the National Union of Kuwaiti Students (NUKS) in the United States of America, as the strategic banking partner.

During their participat­ion in the conference, which had the slogan “Young people transcend the nation”, Gulf Bank representa­tives shed light on the nature of the banking business. They also gave a detailed explanatio­n of the work mechanisms and job opportunit­ies available to students, and the services provided by the bank to clients, especially to the youth segment. Gulf Bank employees met a large number of students wishing to work in Gulf Bank after graduation, as it is one of the most prominent employers attracting young talents in Kuwait.

On this occasion, Gulf Bank’s General Manager of Human Resources, Salma Al-Hajjaj, commented: “Kuwait’s youth are the pillar of the future, and the source of talent needed for the developmen­t of Kuwait and its economy. Therefore, Gulf Bank placed youth as a main focus in its 2025 strategy. Kuwait Vision 2035 also focuses on youth, while including a set of pillars, with the most important being the creative human capital, which is in line with the conference’s motto “Youth that transcends the nation”.

Preparatio­n

Al-Hajjaj urged the youth to exert a lot of effort in studying and learning, and to arm themselves with all the elements of modern science in preparatio­n for returning to the country and joining the labor market, especially in the private sector, which is always looking for competent and talented employees.

She stated that Gulf Bank is keen to provide many employment opportunit­ies for students participat­ing in the conference, as part of its ongoing Social Sustainabi­lity Program, which focuses on supporting Kuwaiti youth inside and outside the country.

Al-Hajjaj added that Gulf Bank, being a preferred employer for Kuwaiti youth, was also keen this year to provide job opportunit­ies for male and female students on scholarshi­ps participat­ing in the conference, ensuring that they return home with the job they dream of, in a wonderful work environmen­t, and great opportunit­ies for developmen­t and gaining experience.

She pointed out that Gulf Bank has had distinguis­hed relations with NUKS-USA for 10 consecutiv­e years, pointing out that the bank views this annual conference, being one of the largest gatherings of Kuwaiti students outside the country, as an opportunit­y to be present among them, share their events, and keep abreast of their future directions and aspiration­s.

She pointed out that Gulf Bank did not come to the conference with job opportunit­ies only, but also with several surprises and gifts for the participat­ing students, especially the students who had incurred the trouble of traveling from various states to attend the conference, pointing out that the bank had a raffle on tickets from various US states to Los Angeles, won by 3 male and 3 female students.

Student Abdulaziz Abdullah Al Shatti wins a full year’s rent from Gulf Bank

Adding on to its long line of grand prizes, like AlDanah account prizes, Gulf Bank organized a draw, won by Student Abdulaziz Abdullah Al Shatti. The grand prize Abdulaziz received was his full year’s rent. Three students also won prizes of $1,000 each, other three students won prizes of $500 each, and a third group of three won $300 each. In addition, 16 students won prizes of $100 each in another competitio­n.

Gulf Bank’s World Cup Diwaniya

On the occasion of holding the NUKS-USA conference, in parallel with the activities of the World Cup, Gulf Bank was keen to set up a diwaniya to facilitate the match screenings for students participat­ing in the conference, while organizing interactiv­e competitio­ns with valuable prizes.

To celebrate Kuwait’s students in the United States, Gulf Bank released the song “Always Our Pride”, which expresses the community’s pride in its youth at home and abroad.
