Injustice to ‘queer’ people

- By Ahmad alsarraf e-mail: a.alsarraf@alqabas.com.kw

Some of radical and narrow minded lawmakers and their followers launched a war against the homosexuals and cross dressers, calling upon the government to punish them by imprisonment or a huge fine and even exterminate if that is possible.

Those who pretend that they protect the morals are aware – and most of them are not – about the vision of religion towards the homosexuals. How do they charge that group of people despite the fact that the text of religion does justice to them?

The jurisprudence of inheritance allocates a chapter for the hermaphrodites who cannot be classified as male or female. If the person’s aspects and attitude are more likely to those of men, he is granted the share of a male heritage and in case his/her aspects and attitude are more likely a woman, he or she is granted half the share of a man.

The way to define the gender of hermaphrodite varies according to the different jurisprudence doctrines in addition to other opinions.

Nevertheless, they all admit that this class is existing and it needs to be treated according to humanitarian bases. They actually live among us and denying this fact is not fair and it is also useless.

No power in the world can exterminate them as they are part of mankind since the beginning.

This phenomenon is not new and it is not a result of merging with (the atheists) as some naive individuals might think. The entire issue is a genetic default while the patient is not at all guilty. How come he or she is punished by imprisonment, fine or banishment?

Once again, I want to make double sure that supporting this category is part of my faith in human rights. Dominant majority of homosexuals are not responsible for the physical and psychological disorder they suffer. This case is not a considerable reason to discard or exterminate them.
