-

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 31: New Year 2024 started with much zeal and enthusiasm as the members of the Writers’ Forum Kuwait gathered for the first meeting of the Year marking the celebration of the Republic Day of India. The event was originally planned to be on a much bigger scale, however due to the mourning period after the death of H.H. the late Amir of Kuwait and the ongoing war against Palestine, the Forum curtailed its celebration to a limited scale by holding a meeting at the residence of Hindi poetess Ms. Kavita Sarvesh.

Similar to Women taking the lead in India’s Republic Day parade, women were leading the Republic Day celebration at the Writers’ Forum also. While the host of the day was Ms. Kavita Sarvesh, the meeting was anchored by the General Secretary of the forum Ms. Nazneen Ali. President of the forum Mrs. Maimuna Choughle presided over the meeting and English poetess Ms. Sabiha Bilgrami was the chief guest.

She then congratulated all the members for a successful past year in which many new poets and writers joined the Forum. The President of the Forum Mrs. Maimuna Choughle also congratulated the members and inspired them to continue their contributions in the field of literature.

The poetic session incepted with the members exchanging greetings with each other on the occasion of the Republic Day of India. The feeling of patriotism intensified with a patriotic poem by Ameeruddin Ameer. The session then reached its peak with the spreading of different shades of poetry by the members in different Indian languages, each as beautiful and significant as the colors of a rainbow.

Ms. Nazneen Ali, Saeed Nazar Kadpawi,

Yaseen Dawre, Sabir Omer, Ibrahim Sange Qasid and Dr. Rajesh Gupta ruled the hearts with Urdu Ghazals and poetry. The Hindi flag bearers were Ms. Kavita Sarvesh, Ms Anupama Chaturvedi, Dr Radhika Guleri Bhardwaj, Ms Sangeeta Choube Pankhudi, Aamir Diwan, Shabeeh Ahmed, Yajuvendra Chandrakar and Pankaj Tiwari, all of whom were equally mesmerizing. Varied thoughts, themes, subjects and emotions in different languages were distinct and unique yet unifying and binding all the poets together with a common chord of love, life, humanity and patriotism.

As the meeting moved towards conclusion Ms. Sabiha Bilgrami summarized each poet’s creation by beautifully weaving lines chosen from each of the recitations of the day.
