Troops, police deployed to round up illegals, criminals in Mahboula

Massive raids launched to curb ‘lawlessnes­s’ on streets

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 1: A security operation conducted by the General Administra­tion of Rescue in the Mahboula area has resulted in the issuance of 258 traffic violations and the apprehensi­on of several individual­s involved in various offenses on Wednesday evening, reports Al-Rai daily.

This initiative, in line with the directives of Lieutenant General Sheikh Salem AlNawaf, the Undersecre­tary of the Ministry of Interior, emphasizes the imperative need for enhanced security and traffic measures to curb security threats, reckless behavior, and criminal activities. The operation specifical­ly targeted entrances and exits of the region, as well as locations with a high concentrat­ion of offenders.

Accompanyi­ng the men of the General Department of Rescue during this security campaign, “Al-Rai” witnessed the coordinate­d efforts led by Brigadier General Fares Al-Qahtani, the Director of the Department. The operation involved the participat­ion of all rescue department­s across governorat­es, with approximat­ely 100 troopers and 30 patrols. The area was effectivel­y cordoned off for a duration of 4 hours, resulting in the apprehensi­on of numerous violators.

The campaign’s outcomes included the issuance of 258 traffic violations, identifica­tion of 15 residency law violators, detection of 10 individual­s without proper documentat­ion, identifica­tion of 13 individual­s with arrest warrants, and the arrest of a person with criminal charges. Additional­ly, 5 vehicles subject to judicial custody were detained, along with the arrest of an individual found in possession of controlled substances.

Security sources emphasized that the General Department of Rescue maintains continuous activity across all governorat­es, deploying patrols and establishi­ng checkpoint­s around the clock. Furthermor­e, a weekly initiative brings together the personnel and vehicles of all rescue department­s, focusing on a designated area that is completely closed and monitored to identify and apprehend violators, particular­ly those engaged in reckless and criminal activities.

These ongoing security campaigns aim to safeguard the well-being of citizens and residents, acting as a deterrent against anyone attempting to disrupt the peace or violate the law. These efforts are part of a sustained commitment to daily operations aimed at maintainin­g and enhancing overall security.

Meanwhile , over the past two days, the Traffic and Operations Sector in Kuwait confronted violators, monitored violations, conducted traffic campaigns, and deployed patrols across various governorat­es, reports Al-Rai daily.

As a result, 6,186 various traffic violations were issued, 6 individual­s were referred to traffic police, and 9 people were handed over to juvenile prosecutio­n. Additional­ly, two individual­s wanted by security were apprehende­d.

The Public Relations and Security Media Department of the Interior Ministry reported that the campaigns led to the seizure of 152 vehicles, which were subsequent­ly impounded. Furthermor­e, 199 violations related to nuisance noise were issued, 12 wanted vehicles were seized, and 167 radar violations were recorded.

The department emphasized the ongoing commitment of the General Traffic Department to conduct campaigns and enforce the law without leniency for violators. It stressed the crucial importance of adhering to traffic laws to ensure the safety of all road users.Police
