Kazma and Burgan volleyball teams gear up for 42nd Arab Club Championship in Jordan
ISTANBUL, Feb 17: Kazma Club embarks on its journey from Turkey to Jordan for the 42nd Arab Volleyball Club Championship. The tournament, scheduled in Amman from the 20th to the 28th of this month, will see the “Orange” delegation led by Game Director Khaled Al-Bahwa, including Alaa Al-Maarouf.
The administrative team consists of Iranian coach Jawad Shamami, assistant Saeed Yaqoub, fitness coach Hani Fereydoun, team doctor Marko Simulović, and physical therapist Mehdi Khabbaz. Fourteen players, namely Muhammad Abdullah, Abdullah Ali, Abdulaziz Al-Shatti, Abdulrahman Al-Mutawa, Ali Saadoun, Mishal Al-Omar, Ibrahim Ahmed, Muhammad Qassem, Hussein Al-Bahr, Abdulaziz Shaker, Saleh Ahmed, Muhammad Walid, German player Igor, and Bulgarian player Flynn complete the delegation.
Similarly, the Burgan delegation departed on a direct flight to Jordan for the same tournament. Led by Burgan Club’s treasurer, Abdullah Al-Bous, the team includes Game Director Youssef Al-Hamdan, administrator Mubarak AlAzmi, and Argentine coach Alejandro Schneider. Among the 14 players are Serbian professionals Irfan Hamza and
Argentinian Lucas Ocampo.
The tournament draw placed Kazma in the first group with Al-Seeb of Oman, Al-Ahly Benghazi of Libya, Al-Najma of Bahrain, Qatar of Qatar, and Shabab Al-Hussein of Jordan. Meanwhile, Burgan is in the second group with Dar Kulaib of Bahrain, AlShorta of Qatar, Al-Suwaihli of Libya, Masafi Al-Shamal of Iraq, and Shabab Ayra of Jordan. Kuwaiti referee, Faisal Al-Shammari is participating in managing the tournament matches.
In other news, in the postponed matches of the Volleyball League, Al-Qadisiya defeated Al-Arabi with a score of three sets (28-26, 25-15, 20-25, 25-19), and
-Kuwait Club secured victory against AlSahel by three sets (25-15, 25-16, 25-16). The league standings currently show AlArabi and Burgan with 35 points, Kuwait Club, Al-Qadisiya , and Kazma with 34 points, Al-Shabab with 24, Yarmouk with 17, Al-Tadamon with 15, and Sulaibikhat and Al-Sahel with three points each.
Notably, Kuwait Club and Al-Qadisiya have five “postponed” matches remaining for their participation in the Second West Asian Championship, recently concluded in the Sultanate of Oman. Kazma has two postponed matches due to their current participation in the Arab Club Championship.
