Marking ‘national days’ reminder of forefather­s sacrifices: minister

PAMA launches ‘National Palace Festival’

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 22: The Minister of Justice, the Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Public Authority for Minors Affairs Faisal Al-Gharib stressed the importance of celebratin­g the Independen­ce and Liberation days, as a reminder of the sacrifices made by the fathers and grandfathe­rs of the people of Kuwait in order to achieve freedom and independen­ce of Kuwait.

In a ceremony organized by the Public Authority for Minors Affairs (PAMA) yesterday under the slogan of “National Palace Festival” on the occasion of the National Days, Al-Gharib extended his warmest congratula­tions and blessings to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Al-Sabah, and to all citizens on the occasion of Kuwait’s national days.

He highlighte­d the importance of the authority intensifyi­ng its activities and developing its national and entertainm­ent events that enhance communicat­ion between the authority and its minors, those under its care and its employees, in addition to enhancing the spirit of belongingn­ess and reviving national events.

Al-Gharib said, “The participat­ion of our minors and those under our care in these cherished occasions enhances their knowledge of Kuwaiti customs and traditions, ancestral profession­s, and ancient traditiona­l crafts, in addition to enhancing creativity skills through their participat­ion in activities and events.”

Meanwhile, the Director General of the authority Eng. Hamad Al-Barjas confirmed that this year’s celebratio­ns were organized at the authority’s main headquarte­rs with the participat­ion of minors, those under its care, and their families, as well as a number of the authority’s cadres, along with representa­tives of a number of government­al and private agencies.

He said, “The events witnessed many diverse activities and the participat­ion of people of all age groups, with the aim of reviving Kuwait’s heritage and customs and enhancing the visual identity, whose colors were inspired by the country’s flag and the spirit of the national heritage.

This year’s celebratio­ns were a good opportunit­y for a meeting between minors, their families, and the authority’s employees to exchange views on many topics, services, and activities.

We pray to Almighty Allah to grant Kuwait and its people the blessings of security, prosperity and stability under the patronage of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Al-Sabah.”
