Kuwait Investment Forum marks 125 years of Kuwaiti-UK relations

Kingdom.
According to reports from AlQabas daily, senior officials from both nations’ banking and financial sectors, along with notable economists, gathered to discuss avenues for cooperation across several domains.
The conference, inaugurated by Dr. Anwar Al-Mudhaf, Minister of Finance and Minister of State for Economic and Investment Affairs, saw the presence of esteemed dignitaries including Kuwaiti Ambassador to the UK Bader Al-Awadi and UK Ambassador to Kuwait Belinda Lewis.
Additionally, Sheikh Ahmad Duaij AlSabah, Chairman of the Kuwait Banking Association and the Commercial Bank of Kuwait, graced the event alongside key figures from Kuwait’s financial landscape.
Panel discussions at the forum centered around finance, investment, bilateral ties strengthening, Kuwaiti-British partnerships, and technological innovation.
Sheikh Ahmad Duaij Al-Sabah highlighted the enduring economic collaboration between Kuwait and the UK, emphasizing the pivotal role of Kuwaiti banks in fostering growth and development. He stressed their commitment to digital transformation and adoption of advanced technologies to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Moreover, Sheikh Ahmad Duaij AlSabah articulated Kuwaiti banks’ ambitions to expand their global footprint, particularly in London, to facilitate international trade and serve a broader client base. He commended the Central Bank of Kuwait’s efforts to position Kuwait as a financial hub and promote financial technology innovation.
The Chairman praised the UK’s advancements in technology and innovation, advocating for ongoing collaboration to promote digital payment solutions, cybersecurity technologies, and Shariacompliant products.
