KPA ‘engaged’ in development of comprehensive logistics city
KUWAIT CITY, April 15: The Kuwait Ports Authority (KPA) is currently engaged in the development of a comprehensive logistics city, featuring multi-floor warehouses designed for administrative, storage, and exhibition purposes.
The ambitious project also includes a commercial complex along with essential supporting services to bolster the coordination capabilities of logistics services within the country. Ultimately, this initiative aims to elevate Kuwait’s logistical performance index on the global stage.
According to documents seen by Al-Qabas daily, this project, to be built in the Shuwaikh area, carries an estimated cost of approximately 200 million dinars and is slated for completion by the end of 2028.
The overarching objective of the project is to revamp the operations of the foreign trade sector and enhance the efficiency of seaport infrastructure, thereby streamlining import and export procedures across various goods categories.
This endeavor seeks to enhance the efficiency of services provided by the KPA, benefiting the numerous companies it interacts with.
The authority is keen to involve small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in its projects, emphasizing the empowerment of SME owners involved in import-export activities or logistical services provision.
