Kuwait eye victory in AFC U-23 Cup opener against Vietnam

DOHA, April 15: This evening marks the conclusion of the Kuwait Olympic football team’s training sessions at the Qatar University stadiums. It is gearing up to face the Vietnam in the opening round of the fourth group competitio­ns of the AFC U-23 Cup finals. This prestigiou­s tournament commenced yesterday and will run until May 3rd. Alongside Kuwait and Vietnam, the group includes Uzbekistan and Malaysia.

Under the guidance of Portuguese coach Emilio Peixe, the team is striving to find the optimal lineup during its final training session before the tournament kicks off. Kuwait targets

a positive result that will not only boost morale but also enhance its prospects of advancing to the quarter-finals.

The technical staff of the team has been diligently implementi­ng multiple tactics during recent training sessions to formulate a comprehens­ive strategy. They have emphasized the importance of focus and precise execution of instructio­ns to attain their desired objectives.

It’s noteworthy that the participat­ing teams have been divided into four groups, with each group comprising four teams. These teams will engage in a round-robin league format, and the top two teams from each group will secure berths in the quarter-finals. Additional­ly, today features four captivatin­g matches in the tournament’s second day. Saudi Arabia clashes with Tajikistan, while Iraq takes on Thailand in the third group’s encounters. Meanwhile, Japan squares off against China in the second group, and the UAE national team faces off against the South Korean national team.
