Father, son perish in Salmi accident
KUWAIT CITY, April 15: Tragedy struck on the Salmi Road towards Jahra when a four-wheeler carrying a young man born in 2008 and his father overturned, resulting in fatal consequences, reports Al-Anba daily.
The father, who was driving the vehicle with Gulf license plates, succumbed to his injuries shortly after he was admitted to the intensive care unit of the Jahra Hospital.
Security sources said the son died on the spot. The incident has been documented as a case of vehicular overturning, resulting in death and injury, under File No. 8/2024 at the Salmi Police Station.
Suicide attempted: An unidentified female domestic worker was rushed to the Mubarak Al-Kabir Hospital after she allegedly attempted to commit suicide by consuming a quantity of medicine pills, reports AlAnba daily.
The daily added, the sponsor who saw the worker in pathetic condition informed the authorities and was then rushed to the hospital.
Following observation, it was determined that the expatriate had ingested the pills with suicidal intent.
Consequently, a case of criminal suspicion was registered, and the expatriate will undergo investigation once her condition stabilizes.
Drug addict nabbed: The Jahra security personnel arrested a man in his twenties under suspicious circumstances at a checkpoint in the Al-Naeem area, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
The suspect was taken into custody after he showed signs of drug influence and was found in possession of hashish cigarettes and related paraphernalia during a routine search conducted by Jahra security patrols.
Subsequently, the man and the confiscated items were handed over to the Directorate-General for Drugs Control for further investigation and legal action.
