Dean of Diplomatic Corps honors outgoing Vietnam, Algeria envoys
KUWAIT CITY, April 16: The Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and the Ambassador of Tajikistan to Kuwait Zubaidullah Zubaidov held a farewell ceremony Sunday evening for the Ambassador of Vietnam to Kuwait Ngo Tuan Thang, and the Ambassador of Algeria Noureddine Meriem, in the presence of the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Khaled Al-Farsi, and a large number of heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Kuwait.
Ambassador Zubaidov praised the efforts exerted by his outgoing colleagues to develop their countries’ relations with Kuwait, as well as their cooperation with their fellow heads of other missions.
He expressed his appreciation to Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs for its constant cooperation and support for diplomatic missions and international organizations in Kuwait, and for providing all facilities and overcoming all difficulties to complete their tasks.
Relations
Ambassador Zubaidov highlighted the good relations that bind Kuwait with all countries.
He said, “With the departure of Ambassador Ngo Tuan Thang, we will lose a dear brother, as he was one of the most active ambassadors, and his country should be proud of him. His success comes first because of the presence of his wife by his side. He was and will remain a friend to everyone.”
Meanwhile, the Vietnamese ambassador expressed his appreciation to Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, saying, “We have many memories here. Both the State of Kuwait and Kuwaitis were very generous to me, and I learned a lot from them.”
He expressed his gratitude to the ambassadors who helped him during his stay in Kuwait for about three years.
Ambassador Ngo Tuan Thang extended his “big” thanks to the local press, “which has always done a wonderful job with me and most of the ambassadors”.
Enjoyable
He invited everyone to visit him in Vietnam, where he will spend two years before being appointed to a new country.
Ambassador Ngo Tuan Thang said, “Diplomatic life in Kuwait is enjoyable, and I have a great friendship with many diplomats and ambassadors.”
He highlighted the cooperation of Vietnamese and Kuwaiti Airlines, and the closeness of facilitating direct flights during the summer this year.
In addition, the Algerian Ambassador to Kuwait Noureddine Meriem expressed his pride in his work in Kuwait.
He said, despite the short time he spent in the country, he gained rich experience and long-standing friendships with Kuwaitis and the diplomatic community.
Ambassador Noureddine Meriem praised the depth of the friendly relations between Kuwait and his country, and the keenness of both sides to enhance all aspects of cooperation.
