MoH to open dermatology clinics at Mutla’a Health Center: official
KUWAIT CITY, April 16: Head of the Dermatology Department at Jahra Hospital Dr Mohammad AlOtaibi said the Ministry of Health will open a number of dermatology clinics at Mutlaa Health Center to make it easier for Mutla’a residents, instead of visiting Jahra Medical City, reports Al-Anba daily.
Al-Otaibi told the daily that the total number of visitors to various clinics in Jahra Health District reached 81,000 last year. He affirmed that the department is one of the centers accredited by Kuwait Institute for Medical Specialties for training dermatologists.
He pointed out that the department serves all citizens and expatriates residing in Jahra regardless of gender or age, indicating it provides therapeutic services to children and adults through referral and electronic appointment system in the affiliated health centers.
He said the department handles all cases that require consultation from a dermatologist, and serves patients through the general and specialized clinics daily (in the morning). He stressed there are a number of specialized dermatology clinics serving patients, including three that are specialized in treating moderate to severe cases of psoriasis.
He added the department provides the latest scientific findings in the field of medicine, particularly biological ones, which are given under the supervision of qualified doctors. He also affirmed the existence of two hair treatment clinics, where severe alopecia cases are treated using the latest methods, as well as the contact allergy clinic where a specialist performs an allergy test to identify the causative substances
He confirmed that dermatology clinics perform many other therapeutic procedures like cold cauterization and skin injections for some diseases.
