Municipal Council member submits questions about repair of Darwaza
KUWAIT CITY, April 17: The Municipal Council member Alia Al-Farsi submitted a question to the executive body regarding the repair work of the lower part of Al-Abdul Razzaq Gate (Darwaza) in Kuwait City and the Mubarakiya Markets Development Project.
In the preamble to the letter with her questions, Al-Farsi emphasized the significance of the donation approved by the Municipal Council from the Commercial Bank of Kuwait.
This donation aims to support the restoration work of the tunnel and Darwazat Al-Abdul Razzaq
Street. The intersection holds great importance as it connects four main roads in the heart of the capital and has a significant impact on development and urban plans, particularly in Kuwait City and the Mubarakiya markets, areas of concern for the Kuwait Municipality.
Al-Farsi asked a number of questions, such as:1. What is the expected time to reopen the surface intersection (car intersection), according to the schedule?
2. What is the expected time to reopen the underground tunnel (for pedestrian traffic) according to the schedule?
3. Are there structural safety measures for the site?
4. To what extent will the Mubarakiya Markets Development Project be affected if the Kuwait Metro is not implemented?
She also asked for an explanation of the impact on the surrounding roads in coordination with the relevant authorities as well as a feasibility study for the project components.
