Writers help enrich Arabic content: KWA
MUSCAT, April 20, (KUNA): Hamidi Al-Mutairi, SecretaryGeneral of the Kuwaiti Writers Association (KWA), emphasized the pivotal role of writers in enriching Arabic content and highlighting Arab issues. He stressed the importance of incorporating these themes into literary works and discussing them in cultural forums.
Speaking to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) during his leadership of the Kuwaiti Writers Association delegation at the general conference meeting of the Union of Arab Authors and Writers in Muscat, Al-Mutairi highlighted the association’s commitment to representing Kuwaiti culture on Arab and international platforms. He also emphasized the role of Kuwaiti intellectuals in supporting crucial Arab issues.
Al-Mutairi called for the translation of Arabic books and literature into foreign languages to promote Arab culture positively. The conference agenda included the election of the SecretaryGeneral of the Union of Arab Authors and Writers, as well as discussions on organizational and coordination proposals.
Regarding the Palestinian issue, Al-Mutairi stated that it is a central concern for every Arab writer and a fundamental topic in literary and cultural forums. To show solidarity with the people of Gaza, a major intellectual symposium titled “The Role of Cultural Resistance in Supporting the Palestinian Cause” was planned, along with a poetry festival.
Although the conference was scheduled to start earlier, weather conditions in Oman delayed the arrival of Arab delegations, leading to a postponement of the conference activities.
