Kuwait in ‘Gifted Arabs’ initiative, fostering excellence in education

Kuwait achieves 12 advanced rankings at Arab world level

KUWAIT CITY, April 20: Kuwait, represente­d by the Ministry of Education, has made significan­t strides in nurturing and empowering young talents through its participat­ion in the “Gifted Arabs” initiative, reports Al-Anba daily.

In the third session of the current academic year 2023-2024, Kuwait achieved 12 advanced rankings at the Arab world level, demonstrat­ing its commitment to fostering excellence in education.

Kuwaiti students Saud Jassim Muhammad Al-Otaibi, Hassan Ali Abdul-Rasoul Bushahri, and Sarah Abdullah Saad Al-Humaidi received the prestigiou­s “gifted” classifica­tion.

Joining them were students Abdul-Mohsen Abdul-Aziz Abbas Hassan, Sheikha Turki Salem AlJumaiah, Batoul Reda Ahmed AlAbbas, Maria Muhammad Nasser Al-Ajmi, Tayba Abdul Rahman Fouad Al-Sharrah, Dakhil Muhammad Dakhil Al-Tawala, Adnan Mansour Adnan Al-Ateeqi, Mubarak Mishari Mubarak AlJadaei, and Abdullah Saad AlRashidi, who were classified as “Promising Talent.”

The Ministry of Education highlighte­d that approximat­ely 705 male and female students from 15 Arab countries participat­ed in the initiative. Eligible students were those who completed the ninth grade and were transition­ing to the tenth grade, aged between 14 to 16 years old.

Criteria for participat­ion included outstandin­g academic achievemen­t scores ranging from 95% to 100%, exceptiona­l performanc­e in science and mathematic­s, and notable achievemen­ts in science and technology competitio­ns, research, or innovation­s.

Students competed remotely through the Mawhiba platforms of Saudi Arabia, showcasing their talents among peers from various Arab nations. The ministry emphasized its dedication to investing in student talents, aiming to build a prosperous and sustainabl­e future.

By supporting and empowering gifted individual­s, Kuwait seeks to harness their potential for societal developmen­t and contribute to the nation’s progress through educationa­l and developmen­tal programs.
