Count­down to In­ter­net of things World Fo­rum 2015 in Dubai be­gins

DUBAI: The count­down to the third edi­tion of the Cisco spon­sored In­ter­net of Things World Fo­rum (IoTWF) 2015 has started. There is less than a month to go un­til more than 1500 gov­ern­ment of­fi­cials, heads of busi­ness, academia and re­searchers, from all over the world, de­scend on Dubai to dis­cuss and share best prac­tice on the dra­matic trans­for­ma­tions now gain­ing mo­men­tum across ev­ery global sec­tor and cre­at­ing a new world of op­por­tu­ni­ties made pos­si­ble by the In­ter­net of Things (IoT).

The Dubai IoTWF an­nounced in Jan­uary 2015, will be held at the Dubai World Trade Cen­tre from De­cem­ber 6-8, 2015. Driven by a steer­ing com­mit­tee com­pris­ing in­dus­try vi­sion­ar­ies, tech­nol­o­gists, ex­ec­u­tives, and ed­u­ca­tors who are com­mit­ted to ac­cel­er­at­ing the aware­ness and adop­tion of In­ter­net of Things (IoT) tech­nolo­gies, the IoTWF 2015 aims to con­vene top thought lead­ers, im­ple­menters and cre­ators across pub­lic sec­tor, pri­vate busi­ness and ed­u­ca­tion from through­out the Mid­dle East as well as glob­ally in one place at one time to col­lab­o­rate, net­work, part­ner, and build the in­dus­try’s ecosys­tem to­gether.

Boast­ing a packed agenda of key­note ses­sions and tech­ni­cal break-outs over the three days, del­e­gates will gain valu­able in­sights into the value and mo­men­tum of global IoT strate­gies and de­ploy­ments as well as dis­cuss and share of best prac­tices on ev­ery front - flex­i­bil­ity,

Hosted by Cisco in part­ner­ship with in­dus­try steer­ing com­mit­tee mem­bers, the event is now well re­spected a premier lead­er­ship fo­rum for key stake­hold­ers and in­no­va­tors who are driv­ing IoT adop­tion world­wide.

Dur­ing the fo­rum, at­ten­dees will have the op­por­tu­nity to ex­pe­ri­ence mul­ti­ple proofs of con­cepts (PoCs) in Dubai, nearly all demon­strat­ing hor­i­zon­tal in­te­gra­tion de­ploy­ments into the city dig­i­tal plat­form in­clud­ing a dy­namic mix of smart city and cross-ver­ti­cal so­lu­tions. Smart city so­lu­tions such as park­ing, light­ing, and waste man­age­ment, will be high­lighted in ad­di­tion to cross ver­ti­cal so­lu­tions in trans­porta­tion, en­vi­ron­men­tal and en­ergy mon­i­tor­ing, safety and se­cu­rity, bank­ing, avi­a­tion, and ed­u­ca­tion. Tours of the Com­mand and Con­trol Cen­ter will demon­strate the hor­i­zon­tal in­te­gra­tion of nearly all the PoCs into the City Dig­i­tal Plat­form to en­able ag­gre­ga­tion of data from var­i­ous sen­sors, so­lu­tions, and part­ners, ad­vanced data an­a­lyt­ics, a wide spec­trum of ur­ban ser­vices, and part­ner ap­pli­ca­tions. Fur­ther­more, at­ten­dees will also be able to ex­pe­ri­ence the path of the ‘city of the fu­ture trans­for­ma­tion’ through a walk­ing or self-guided tour around Dubai World Trade Cen­ter or bus tour to Dubai De­sign Dis­trict (d3).
