‘Oh Islam!’

Iam not an Islamic preacher, and I did not study fiqh, and did not go deep into Islamic sharia sciences, but I am among a majority of those who say “There is no God but Allah, and Mohammad is the Messenger of Allah.” Out of this belief and out of this religion start the words that are full of sadness over what we read, hear and see all day long about Islam.

Every morning, foreign media will not be void of attributing any tragedy that took place or will happen to the religion of Islam, and here we say ‘Oh Islam!’ Our words will not be in defense of Islam, and our statements are not a fort for our Islamic sharia, but our message today is directed to Islamic media: Where is the role of Arab and Muslim media in defending the banner of our faith “There is no God but Allah, and Mohammad is the Messenger of Allah?”

media and its influence over other societies to spread culture and civilization, but what is going on with our Arab media? There is only a negative image of Muslim civilization, and some people may ask why.

How many suggestions go to support our civilization and faith, and protect our pure religion? For example, where are the programs that have content about Islam, and its respect of other religions and its rejection of terror? Where is the joint Arab production for Arab countries to come out with a movie, even if short, about the forgiveness of the religion of Islam? Where are the dialogue programs that are supposed to have a deterrent answer to those harming Islam? Where are the political and media activists and their statements about the banner of Islam?

A last word: We do not want meetings, we do not want silence - we want positive Arab Muslim media so that we do not become people who only have one phrase: ‘Oh Islam!’
