Kuwait, Nicaragua ink bilateral deals
KUWAIT: Kuwait and Nicaragua signed several agreements during a ceremony held yesterday at Bayan Palace, in the presence of His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad AlJaber Al-Sabah. The agreements are related to bilateral consultations, visa exemption for diplomatic and special passports and economic, technical and agricultural cooperation. They were signed by First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled AlHamad Al-Sabah and Nicaragua’s Vice-President General Moises Omar Halleslevens Acevedo.
The signing ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Ali Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah, Advisor the His Highness the Crown Prince’s Diwan and head of the mission of honor, Dr Humoud Mohammad Al-Otaibi, Head of His Highness the Crown Prince’s Diwan Sheikh Mubarak Al-Faisal Al-Saud Al-Sabah and head of protocols at the Diwan Sheikh Mubarak Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah.
Earlier, His Highness the Crown Prince received the visiting Nicaraguan Vice-President, who delivered a written letter to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber AlSabah from Nicaragua’s President Daniel Ortega on bilateral relations between both friendly countries and ways of bolstering them in various fields as well as several issues of mutual interest. His Highness Sheikh Nawaf then held a luncheon banquet at Bayan Palace in honor of Acevedo and his accompanying delegation. Acevedo and his delegation arrived in Kuwait Sunday on a three-day visit.
Later, Acevedo received His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak AlHamad Al-Sabah in his residence at Bayan palace. The meeting was attended by State Minister for Cabinet Affairs and Acting Electricity and Water Minister Sheikh Mohammad AlAbdullah Al-Sabah, Dr Humoud Al-Otaibi, and Assistant Foreign Minister for the Americas Affairs Ambassador Reem Al-Khaled.
In other news, His Highness the Crown Prince received Governor of the US State of Virginia, in presence of Governor of Farwaniya Sheikh Faisal Al-Humoud Al-Sabah. His Highness also received Head of the National Security Apparatus Sheikh Thamer Ali Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah.
