Minister Essa commends Kuwait-Lebanon relations
Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education Dr Bader Al-Essa Sunday commended the strong relations between Kuwait and Lebanon, affirming His Highness the Amir’s keenness to further cement them.
In a statement to reporters on sidelines of a reception held by the Lebanese Embassy on the occasion of the country’s national day, Essa hoped Lebanon would enjoy security, stability and prosperity. He said Kuwait has always supported Lebanon in times of need, citing contributions of Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) to development in Lebanon.
Asked about closure of the Cultural Office in Lebanon, Essa attributed it to security conditions and the small number of students.
He said the Ministry of Higher Education registered all Kuwaitis who were studying in the Lebanese universities in other countries. Essa explained that there should be around 200 students in a foreign country to open a cultural office.
Lebanese Ambassador to Kuwait Dr Khodhr Helwe expressed gratitude for His Highness the Amir, His Highness the Crown Prince, parliament Speaker, government and the Kuwaiti people for the promotion of dialogue for the sake of international peace.
