Vietnam Communist Party prepares for generation of new leaders
Vietnam as a new emerging country in ASEAN is preparing for its 12th National Congress of the Communist Party in early 2016. The Communist Party of Vietnam continues to be the country’s leading party after having made significant achievements. The Party hopes Vietnam will become a modern, industrialized nation by 2020.
In basically, Vietnam holds National Party congresses every five years. Up to now, the congress of Vietnam’s 63 administrative units for the term 20152020 has been held successfully. Next, the country is now preparing the final steps of organizing the Party’s 12th National Congress. A generation of new leaders is expected to make remarkable breakthroughs in the upcoming congress. The average age of secretaries and newly-elected provincial officials is 52, while some of them are even as young as 39. This shows that Vietnam is rejuvenating its leadership with those who were trained in developed western countries, like America.
Looking back at what Vietnam has achieved in its history is remarkable; it has won wars against colonialism and imperialism to become a new emerging economy. According to analysts, the leadership and orientation of the Communist Party is the key reason why Vietnam has achieved such success.
An economic growth rate above the world average, constant improvements in the lives of the people, and hundreds of thousands of satisfied tourists-these are the results of significant policy changes made in the 80’s under the leadership of the Communist Party. Almost partners in the world appreciate the Vietnamese achievements.
Morever, Vietnamese foreign policy has become multilateral and diverse, especially in regards to the Middle East. Many Middle Eastern nations are developing Vietnam’s strengths by promoting cooperation between one and another. With Vietnam’s developing economy and improving investment environment, big enterprises in the UAE, Qatar, and Kuwait have been coming and finding opportunities with the country.
Finally, with a young, new leadership in the Communist Party, Vietnam will become more open to the world, and foreign partners, including the Middle East, will have more opportunities to cooperate with Vietnam.
