Eti­had Air­ways Engi­neer­ing gets Euro­pean avi­a­tion safety nod

ABU DHABI: Eti­had Air­ways Engi­neer­ing, the Mid­dle East’s lead­ing avi­a­tion main­te­nance, re­pair and over­haul (MRO) provider, has be­come the first or­gan­i­sa­tion in the Mid­dle East to be granted an ex­tended Part21J De­sign Or­ga­ni­za­tion Ap­proval (DOA) by the Euro­pean Avi­a­tion Safety Agency (EASA) to un­der­take ma­jor cabin de­sign and mod­i­fi­ca­tion. With the new ap­proval Eti­had Air­ways Engi­neer­ing is en­ti­tled to de­sign and cer­tify ma­jor changes to cabin interiors, gal­leys or other in­te­rior equip­ment and re­lated struc­ture, and en­vi­ron­men­tal and elec­tri­cal sys­tems.

Jeff Wilkin­son, Eti­had Air­ways’ Se­nior Vice Pres­i­dent, Tech­ni­cal, said: “We are pleased to of­fer Eti­had Air­ways, its eq­uity part­ners and third party cus­tomers the flex­i­bil­ity of making ma­jor cabin mod­i­fi­ca­tions to their ex­ist­ing fleet with this Part21J EASA ap­proval. We re­main com­mit­ted to de­vel­op­ing our main­te­nance, re­pair and over­haul ca­pa­bil­i­ties as a one-stop-fa­cil­ity while fo­cus­ing on new plat­forms and de­liv­er­ing the high­est stan­dards of safety and qual­ity.

With the new ap­proval, the com­pany is now able to of­fer more com­pre­hen­sive, tai­lor-made so­lu­tions cov­er­ing a wide range of tech­ni­cal as­pects.”

Eti­had Air­ways Engi­neer­ing is an AS9110 cer­ti­fied or­gan­i­sa­tion and al­ready holds EASA 145 ap­proval as well as EASA 21J ap­proval for de­sign­ing and un­der­tak­ing mi­nor changes and re­pairs.
