Book fair seminar discusses role of translation in history

The Kuwait International Book Fair hosted a seminar on translation in the Arab World, moderated by Dr Afrah Ali, and featured Dr Noemi Bandera, Dr Sadiq Johar and Dr Al-Momen Abdullah. Dr Ali spoke about the significant role of translation in spreading knowledge and serving civilization worldwide and throughout human history, and went on to speak about key works in the Arab and Islamic worlds which were translated and served as bases for knowledge in Europe and the West.

Dr Bandera then spoke about translated publications between Arabic and Spanish, while Dr Johar focused on the history of translation between the Arabic and English languages. Meanwhile, Dr Abdullah highlighted the need to translate scientific publications instead of focusing on literature in the most part.
