Former oil of­fi­cials crit­i­cize Dow in­ves­ti­ga­tion com­mit­tee

KUWAIT: A par­lia­men­tary com­mit­tee in­ves­ti­gat­ing the Dow Chem­i­cal case started tak­ing new turns af­ter some former se­nior oil sec­tor of­fi­cials made a state­ment ex­plain­ing that the com­mit­tee had made ac­cu­sa­tions against them with­out show­ing the least re­spect to their rights to be asked di­rectly about such ac­cu­sa­tions. This was al­ready high­lighted by MP Ah­mad Al-Qud­haibi, who stressed that they had not been called to be in­ter­ro­gated. The state­ment signed by former oil sec­tor se­nior of­fi­cials, in­clud­ing Saad Al-Showayyeb, Maha Mulla Hus­sein, Yousif Al-Ateeqi, Nasser Al-Enezi, Khaled Al-Ajeel and Salah Al-Kharji. They re­futed the al­le­ga­tions made by chair­man of the par­lia­ment’s pub­lic fund pro­tec­tion com­mit­tee MP Ab­dul­lah Al-Tu­raiji, who claimed that the in­ves­ti­ga­tion com­mit­tee had sum­moned all re­lated of­fi­cials.
